On Saturday, Nov. 11, 2023, MMB Realty Group (MMB), along with their friends and family, hosted their annual turkey and produce giveaway located at the Mt. Olive Baptist Church parking lot.

Shana Richardson of the New Buffalo Institute sent the information about the giveaway to the Canisius community, and volunteers showed up at Mt. Olive at 10 a.m. to help distribute the turkeys and produce. Attendance was so high that volunteers ran out of turkeys to give out just an hour into the event.

Some sponsors of the event included the Girl Scouts of Western New York, Highmark Western New York, Creative Structures Services, KeyBank, M&T Bank, Evans, Tops and Amazon.

The event was lively. There were many volunteers, including Canisius’s men’s and women’s lacrosse teams and volunteers from MMB. There was a DJ, Clydesdale horses pulling a wagon and people dancing together.

Even though the turkeys were given away very quickly, the event provided many people with Thanksgiving foods and smiles, bringing the Buffalo community together for a great cause.
