On Friday, Oct. 24, the Residence Hall Association hosted its first Haunted Quad event. Clubs such as C-Block, The Griffin, Phi Alpha Delta, Alpha Kappa Psi, Unity and departments such as Campus Ministry, the Counseling Center, the Office of the Center for International Education and the ALANA Center, to name a few, were present.

The energy was never low, as activities such as cookie decorating and slime-making were present. In addition, there was a costume contest which featured a plethora of prizes– for third place, a pair of AirPod Pros, for second place, an iPad, and for first place, a 50’’ 4K flatscreen Roku TV. Managing Editor Ashley Kurz managed to win third place with her homemade/thrifted Mad Hatter costume. About the event, she said, “It was really great to have a safe space to dress up and show off my crafty side to the other clubs, and winning was a real bonus!” The Halloween spirit was definitely present as the candy was aplenty.

Abu Jallow, President of RHA, was enthusiastic about the turnout: he says, “I think the event went great, it always makes me smile when I see the residents engaging with the different campus clubs and organizations.” Overall, the event proved successful in getting the campus engaged in a fun way. According to their Instagram, their recurring Midnight Breakfast event will be the next upcoming RHA event.
