On Wednesday, Nov. 6, the Model United Nations Club and International Relations department are hosting the 46th annual High School Model United Nations Conference. 29 local high schools are attending and around 500 students will attend– one of the largest turnouts in recent history. The presence of buses and students may affect parking on campus, especially in the Spillman lot. Please take special care when driving on Jefferson, Hughes and Main Streets that day, especially 7-9 a.m. and 2-3:30 p.m.
Bennie Williams, who formerly held the roles of assistant dean of students and director of the Multicultural Student Center, is no longer employed at Canisius University.
Tuesday, Nov. 5 is Election Day, and Sigma Phi Alpha and the ALANA Center will be hosting an election night watch party at 7 p.m. in Old Main room 221, with trivia and refreshments.
The New York Times election poll shows that as of Oct. 31, the race is slim as Harris “leads by less than one percentage point,” which is her “smallest lead since mid-August.”
This Saturday, Nov. 2 at 10 a.m., is the Future on Our Feet 5k organized by Canisius’s Integrated Marketing Communications Masterclass. Participants can register by scanning the QR codes on their fliers around campus. Sign up only costs $15 for students and $30 for non-students, with all proceeds going toward supporting “sustainable projects for men, women, and children in Kenya and Zambia.”
Public Safety Director Chief Clayton Staton will be hosting a meet-and-greet event on Monday, Nov. 4, at 3:30 p.m. in the Regis Room, where students will have the opportunity to participate in “an open conversation on campus safety and campus communication.”
