Human Remains found in Carlton Reserve confirmed to be Brian Laundrie’s

Remains of Brian Laundrie, the suspected murderer of Gabby Petito, have been found on the Carlton Reserve in Florida.

The remains were found Wednesday and, according to dental records, on Thursday the FBI confirmed that they indeed belonged to Brian Laundrie.

It has been over a month since Gabby Petito was reported missing, and her remains were found about a week later in Wyoming. Shortly after, Brian Laundrie’s family reported him missing as well.

Two weeks ago, the Teton County coroner released Petito’s cause of death as strangulation.

On Sept. 19, police searched the entirety of the Carlton Reserve in Florida for Laundrie but came up with nothing.

Wednesday was the first day that the park was reopened to the public, so Laundrie’s parents chose to go walk the park looking for signs of their son.

According to CNN, Laundrie’s father was the first to recognize a backpack belonging to Brian in the woods, covered in brambles. The backpack contained some of Laundrie’s belongings as well.
