Multiple celebrities spoke out against Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) during the 2026 Grammy Awards this past Sunday. Artists such as Bad Bunny, Kehlani, Justin Bieber, Billie Eilish and Gloria Estefan spoke up for immigrants and communities targeted by ICE, showing solidarity through acceptance speeches and wearing “ICE OUT” pins on the red carpet.
Bad Bunny accepted the award for best música urbana album. He began his acceptance speech by saying, “Before I say thanks to God, I’m gonna say: ICE OUT!” This was followed by the crowd erupting into applause. “We’re not savage, we’re not animals, we’re not aliens,” he said. “We are humans and we are Americans.”
Bad Bunny won a total of three awards on Sunday. He was awarded the Grammy’s most prestigious award, album of the year, for “Debí Tirar Más Fotos (I Should Have Taken More Photos).” This was the first time a Spanish-language album has claimed this award. During his acceptance speech for this specific award, Bad Bunny dedicated his win to “all the people who had to leave their homeland, their country to follow their dreams.”
Billie Eilish used her acceptance speech for song of the year, “Wildflower,” to speak out against ICE, however, some of her comments were censored by TV stations. “As grateful as I feel, I honestly don’t feel like I need to say anything, but that no one is illegal on stolen land,” Eilish said as she, her brother and creative partner Finneas wore “ICE OUT” pins on the red carpet to accept their award. Eilish continued, “I feel like we just need to keep fighting and speaking up and protesting…our voices really do matter, and the people matter. That’s all I’m going to say.” Then, the broadcast’s sound cut out briefly as she said, “F*** ICE.”
Eilish has since received mass amounts of criticism from conservatives calling her a "hypocrite.” Gov. Ron DeSantis, R-Fla., remarked on X, "Oh, gee, this 'stolen land' nonsense again? Maybe she should step up and forfeit her southern California mansion since it is supposedly on 'stolen land.'" However, supporters of Eilish’s comments argue that there is hardly a correlation between her supporting immigrants while also living on American soil.
Olivia Dean, recipient of the best new artist Grammy, addressed immigrants in her acceptance speech by saying, "I'm up here as a granddaughter of an immigrant. I'm a product of bravery, and I think those people deserve to be celebrated. We're nothing without each other."
Other celebrities have spoken out against ICE outside of the Grammys as well. Rock legend
Bruce Springsteen made a surprise appearance at a concert on Friday, organized by Rage Against the Machine’s Tom Morello in Minneapolis, M.N. This event benefited the families of Renee Nicole Good and Alex Pretti, who were both murdered by immigration officers last month. This follows the release of “Streets of Minneapolis,” a song dedicated to the people of Minneapolis, one of ICE’s most prominent targets, as well as Good and Pretti’s memory.
