I wish you could read my mind because then maybe you could see, 

I really want to fall in love, as long as it’s filled with guarantees 

That you will always be there, and never leave.

That despite all the dark I hide, you will never be frightened of who I could be. 

I want someone to stay and be my anchor when the waves scream and drag me across the floor. 

Stay and hold me close when my smile isn’t right because I can’t keep “faking it till I make it” anymore.

I want that love where you will let me talk nonsense for hours, because I have thoughts and dreams that need to be devoured. 

I want you to love me when I share all my doubts because I am on fire and you are the only one that has the power to put it out. 

I want someone who knows that when I don’t ask for help and start to pull away, 

It’s my barricades rising, telling me there’s only one person I can rely on and it’s always myself at the end of the day. 

That’s when I need you to be there, to barge right in, no matter how strong the wall,

Tell me it’s going to be alright and tell me we’re never going to fall

The truth is I’m afraid to trust because out of all the risks I am willing to take, falling in love is the one that could make me break.

But somehow you always manage to make me feel known.

But somehow I managed to find it wherever you roam. 

I will hold and protect you when the world turns mean, 

Be the kind of love nothing can ever come between. 

The love that will listen to your random topics because I know that although you are slightly psychotic, 

It’s your way of seeing if someone will stay in one place, 

And I promise you love, I will stay just so I can share your space.

I will admire your scars as battles and wars you have won, because you’re the strongest person I know that still cares about everyone. 

You claim I have the power to extinguish your flame, but darling, you are a wildfire that will burn me insane. 

You are stubborn and argue even if you know I’m right, 

But I love you so much that I will still let you win all of our fights. 

I challenge you and I know you love to play my games, 

So why won’t you be the love that I can tame?
