Yesterday we sold the car

I scrubbed the memories

from the seats with bleach

Tossed out the broken CD’s

we left on repeat


I’m totaled

A wreck


All the money

on repairs

I spent


All the mileage we acquired

All the sweat we bled, steamy

windshields perspired


All gone now

at the junkyard

smashed

Crushed

and scrapped


Bought a new car today

said I’d never drive again

Relapsed
