By: Briana Wasil, Creative Corner Editor

Canisius University’s Little Theatre is kicking off their year with “A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” directed by Eileen Dugan. This performance will also be the first ever in LT’s very own Black Box located on the third floor of the Student Center. Due to this, Little Theatre has posted a QR code with their poster as well as on their Instagram to reserve seats ahead of time. These seats are solely for purposes of quantity – they do not determine where you will be seated during the performance. While walk-ins are still allowed, please note that this does not guarantee an available seat. The show will debut next week, Thursday, Oct. 10 at 8:00 pm, and will continue Friday, Oct. 11 at 8 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 12 at 2 p.m. Their last performance will be on Saturday at 8 p.m. Doors will be open 30 minutes before each designated show time. Take a few hours next weekend to be swept away by Shakespeare with Little Theatre!

Plot synopsis: “One night two young couples run into an enchanted forest in an attempt to escape their problems. But these four humans do not realize that the forest is filled with fairies and hobgoblins who love making mischief.” Meanwhile, a group of working Athenians are preparing a play of the tragic love story of Pyramus and Thisbe to present before the Duke Theseus on his wedding day. Goodreads continues, “When Oberon, the Fairy King, and his loyal hobgoblin servant, Puck, intervene in human affairs, the fate of these young couples is magically and hilariously transformed” (goodreads.com).
