Griff-Fits: “Amazon”-ian

By: Julian Reynoso, Assistant Creative Corner Editor

Hello boils and ghouls! We’ve come back from the dead to showcase our spooktacular edition of Griff-Fits this wicked week. Student and published author, Kira Rodriguez, shows off her warrior princess costume, and here’s what she had to say about it:

“I’ve always wanted to do a costume with a fantasy aspect, but I really wanted to do scars this year for my costume, so I wanted to pick something that made sense with scars. These last few years, I’ve been trying to get better at special effects makeup.”

“I pieced different things together from Amazon, Spirit Halloween and a bit of my wardrobe. The main piece that inspired the warrior idea was the collar with the chain and feathers. I got that off of Amazon after scrolling for hours. The skirt I got came with the tiara, so I decided to turn a warrior into a warrior princess. The bracers on my arms and the sword were impulse buys from Spirit Halloween.”

“My favorite part of the costume is the scars. I like being artistic with my hands. I’m also an author, so I love making things come to life.”

“In the photo under Palisano, I only did a small version of my scars that took about 15 to 20 minutes, but for my Halloween party on Saturday, I’ll have scars going all across my face.”
