If there is one thing college students love, it’s consuming a concerning amount of caffeine in one day. Unapologetic Coffee is quickly becoming the go-to stop for said coffee consumption, so I decided to check it out. My credentials for this review are that I only started liking coffee about three months ago, so if I think it's good, in my mind, veteran coffee drinkers will think it’s good.
I’ve had four coffees from the new-and-improved Science Hall cafe, and I can say truthfully that every one has been fantastic! For my first visit, I got my go-to at any coffee shop: their café latte with oatmilk and brown sugar cinnamon, and I was very pleasantly surprised. Next, I took some inspiration from USA President Analee DeGlopper, who originally convinced me to try it, and got her order of a café latte with caramel. I will say I was skeptical simply because I’m not a caramel person. Usually, I think it's too sweet, but I ended up going back and ordering it again!
On my most recent trip, I decided to once again take some inspiration from someone else’s order and got Kaitlin O’Meara’s order of a café latte with vanilla. Unsurprisingly (or unapologetically), this coffee was also above and beyond! I’ve tried their grilled cheese, which as a self-proclaimed grilled cheese expert, was an 8/10! I’m personally not an American cheese girl, but this was actually good and gained bonus points for being on a croissant!
Although I am a vegetarian, I recruited Paige Apps to report to all of you meat-eaters. She tried the Buffalo chicken sandwich, which she commented overall seemed subpar. The chicken was only on half, and because the sandwich was hot, the lettuce unfortunately got a little wilted.
Overall, I think my expert recommendation in terms of their coffees would be to get the caramel if you want something sweeter, and the vanilla if you want something with a more prominent coffee flavor!
