The Griffin’s Favorite Duo tries holiday drinks

If there is one thing The Griffin’s Favorite Duo likes, it’s a fun drink! Luckily for us, this week both Starbucks AND Dunkin released their holiday menus. Dunkin even released a “Wicked” menu and if there’s one thing we like more than fun drinks…it’s musicals. 

Wednesday we went to Dunkin with our favorite person, roommate and assistant news editor, Katie Dusza. I (Hannah) got the cookie butter latte, and honestly – nothing to write home about. Did I like it? Yes. Will it be my go-to this holiday season? Absolutely not. Katie and I also got the Wicked munchkins; I did not spend the $9 for the tin, but Katie did and was very satisfied. I will say it’s cute, but when 10 munchkins are $3 – I’ll take that over a Wicked tin any day. I (Kaitlin) got the cookie butter shaken espresso and have similar feelings about my drink as Hannah did. If you don’t like sweet coffee, don’t get it – I had a headache for the rest of the day. Taste-wise though, it was pretty good. 

On Thursday, Starbucks dropped their holiday menu, so naturally we HAD to go and get more coffee. I (Kaitlin) got the sugar cookie latte – with oatmilk – and this probably will be my go-to this holiday season. It was SO GOOD. I (Hannah) got a peppermint mocha and while I normally am a big fan of these, I immediately regretted not getting the sugar cookie latte after trying Kaitlin’s. I also got the polar bear cake pop and while I’m a big fan of cake pops, I’m not a big fan of white chocolate so it lost some points there. Katie also came with us for this adventure and got the sugar cookie latte as well, but she got it for free for her birthday! Everyone should wish Katie a happy belated birthday if you see her today…or else. 

Though our wallets aren’t happy, our hearts are. We can also say for sure we will be consuming many holiday drinks this holiday season!
