The Canisius men’s lacrosse team looks to bounce back from a loss to Mount St. Mary’s this weekend as they travel to North Andover, Mass. to face the Merrimack Warriors.

The team has faced a rather tough stretch over the last couple of weeks. After winning their first two games in MAAC play, they’ve gone on to lose their next three games. Canisius looks to bounce back from their previous loss to Mount St. Mary’s in which the Golden Griffins gave up three unanswered goals to turn a 10–9 lead into a 12–10 loss.

Currently, Canisius holds a 3–8 record with a 2–3 record in the MAAC. With the season entering its final weeks, the conference tournament is on the horizon, meaning the upcoming games for Canisius will determine whether or not they secure a spot.

Merrimack's record is very similar to Canisius, with the Warriors recording one more win in one more game played.

Following the loss to the Mountaineers, Canisius Head Coach Mark Miyashita addressed the team’s performance. He emphasized some key faults of play and expressed his desire to maintain a strong foundation as the Griffs head into some challenging matchups.

“We kind of got away from our fundamental principles,” explained Miyashita, later continuing that, “We just got to be more consistent in practice.”

The Griffs are back in action on Saturday, April 11 when they take on Merrimack at Duane Stadium at noon.
