2026 marks the 25th anniversary of the tragedy of Sep. 11, 2001. Every year, the United States mourns the death of 2,777 victims and this year for the 25th, newspapers and magazines across the country will celebrate the anniversary by running special stories about the fateful day.

Lindsay Clancy had a mistrial on Sep. 4th, since the jury was unable to declare a unanimous decision. In 2023, Clancy did not deny killing her children, however, she pleaded not guilty due to her declining mental health. At first, it was stated that Clancy had postpartum psychosis, but it was later decided that she was responsible for the murders.

The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time was originally released in 1998, but is now getting a remake that is set to release on Nov. 5th, 2026.

Sep. 10th marked the day that Charlie Kirk died at Utah Valley University while answering Hunter Kozak’s question, who was a student and was the last person to speak to him before he was assassinated. Kozak says he walks by the same spot on a weekly basis. 

A theft has taken place in London, involving 70,000 pints of Guinness. The trailers were estimated to have cost about 50,000 British pounds or 67,000 dollars. The supply was stolen by two drivers at an industrial park, as the trailers containing 800 barrels of stout were hauled away by the mystery thieves.

Amadeo Fusca won New York City's Mamdani look-alike contest, earning a prize of 100 dollars. The winner was determined by the loudness of the applause they received, and Fusca received the most, with his New York Knicks jersey, facial hair and hairstyle similar to Mamdani's.

The planet Mercury is shrinking. The German Aerospace Center has stated that Mercury is shrinking faster than they expected to, losing 14 miles in diameter. Since Mercury has a jagged surface, with numerous craters, it was hard to tell how much it really shrinked. “We are quite excited. We are approaching the reality of Mercury's evolution” Nishiyama states, an associate from Hokkaido University, according to Huffpost.

A bear mother and her cubs broke into a water storage tank on Aug. 29. They tried escaping the heat, but ended up staying trapped there for 12 hours. Soon after, local residents found the family of bears. They then reported it to the authorities, to which state wildlife and firefighters helped the bears free by poking a hole in the tank and draining the water. They then set a ladder down the tank, and were eventually rescued.

On Aug. 27, a Taiwanese man suspected his wife of cheating after finding a toothbrush in their vacation house. In light of this information, he installed a Roomba vacuum cleaner to spy on her and found out that she was in fact having an affair. He then sued her and won 16,000 dollars in United States currency. However, the wife sued him back, stating that he did not record her with her consent, and was sentenced to five months of jail.
