Headline: Swim and Dive falls to Binghamton

Last Saturday, men’s and women’s swimming and diving had their fifth meet of the season against Binghamton University. Sadly, both teams fell to the Bearcats.
On the men’s side they finished with a final score of 192–106. Senior Toby Mayfield finished first in overall points with 27. He finished first in the 400-yard individual medley (IM), 100-yard individual medley and the 50-yard butterfly. He also finished second alongside junior Elliot Somers, sophomore Cameron Upchurch and senior Sam Vidal in the 200-yard freestyle relay.
Mayfield also had the second overall race of the meet in the 100-yard IM with a time of 53:11. Vidal wasn’t far behind with the fifth overall swim of the meet in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 58:17. He also had a three-way tie with Tyler Schultz and Evan Peters of Binghamton for fourth overall points of the meet at 13.
On the women’s side they finished with a final score of 217–83. Sophomore Daphne Mead finished second in overall points with 22. She also finished first in both the 400-yard IM and the 100-yard IM. Her 400-yard IM was the second overall swim of the meet with a time of 4:35.31. Junior Evie Leighton wasn’t far behind with her 200-yard freestyle swim becoming the fourth overall swim of the meet with a time of 1:56.67.
The Griffs next meet is this Friday, Nov. 7 at St. Bonaventure University at 6 p.m.
