If you’ve gone to an event on campus this semester, chances are you were asked to check in on GriffConnect. And if you’re new to Canisius – or weren’t paying attention last semester – you might not know what GriffConnect is. I’m here to tell you what it’s all about and how to use it!
GriffConnect is the main platform used to advertise and check into events here on campus. You can access it either through the my.canisius.edu website or by downloading the CampusGroups apps and choosing the SSO login. Having the app is a good idea, especially for those QR code check-ins – it’ll make the process a lot easier and quicker! When you log in to the app or website, you’ll be taken to the home page, which will show you all of the groups you’re a part of and a variety of suggested upcoming events happening over the next week.
If you find an event you want to attend, great! Click on that event to pre-register for it, because that will get you extra Petey points. What’s a Petey point you ask? They’re an incentive for attending events that you can eventually exchange for fun prizes through the Student Engagement and Leadership Development office (SELD). In the past, prizes have included Petey the Griffin squishmallows, Canisius-branded Crocs, portable chargers, a Canisius Owala and more! SELD has said that they will be unveiling new prizes this semester, so keep an eye out and keep getting your Petey points!
Keep an eye on your email as well for the Today@Canisius emails, which also come from GriffConnect, to see all sorts of fun events happening around campus. Now that you know more about GriffConnect, go forth and attend some events!
