For our series “Editors’ Picks,” we ask the staff each the same question and give you their unfiltered responses– interruptions included. Happy picking!

Question: If aliens landed on campus, what class would you recommend they take?

Andrew: Ummmm “Social Media Storytelling” ‘cause I think it would help them understand our culture better, especially because technology is so prevalent in today’s world.

Hannah: I feel like I would just have them take an English class, but like a really obscure one. Not academic writing. What if we just, like, threw them into the Writing Center? Like, made them tutors?

Sara: I would have them take ENG 111 so they learn how to use proper grammar and punctuation. Then maybe Glorb can go on the Writing Center payroll.

Katie: I haven’t taken any fun ones. Wait, that’s so shady, oh my god. To clarify, none that would have the aliens shook.

Ashley: Caves, Colosseums and Cathedrals. Even though they probably helped build them.

Liz: Philosophy.

Lucas: Probably “Caves, Colosseums, and Cathedrals” to see where we’ve come from and what we can do. It’s an expression of beauty and human thought across thousands of years.

Mikayla: “The Buffalo Experience” for sure! Such a fun class, and it’ll give them a tour of our city while they’re here. Maybe it’ll make them stay a while?

Peter: Whatever the public speaking class with Mary Beth Fortunato is. I can’t think of the name of the class.

Sophie: “Dynamic Presentations.”

Peter: Yes, only because she’s the best. She unironically changed my life.

Lucas: Mary Beth Fortunato is a gem of humanity.

Sophie: Hmmm… well, “First-Year Experience (FYE)” because it’s their first year on earth. ‘Cause they’re new!

Kaitlyn: “Sports Field Production,” ‘cause I want one of them to be on the broadcast.

Colin: Uh hmmm… what class? What’s a class I liked? “Intro to Sports Management” because Dr. O is awesome.

Kaitlin: Death and Dying.

Ash: Day in my life. I have, like, an issue with dying.

By: Lucas Watson Truth be told, the title of this article is partially ripped from a book I had taken from the library when they were clearing the second floor out, called “The Voyage of the ‘Why not?

Has today’s generation ruined old love?

What is old love? It’s a term that today’s generation seems to have forgotten. Old love is defined by Google as a deep, long-lasting bond built over time. As I look around at my peers and their relati
