Cross Country looks to finish Invitational strongly

The Canisius College Cross Country teams will travel to Bethlehem, Pennsylvania this upcoming Friday for the Paul Short Run Invitational. The 8k for the men’s team will take place at 12:15pm at the Goodman Cross Country Course. The 6k for the women’s team will also take place at the Goodman Cross Country Course at 1:00pm.

The Golden Griffins have been off to a phenomenal start this season with two great performances. On the men’s team Tom Appenheimer has led the way in both of their two meets. He has led the men’s team to a 1st place finish and 5th place finish in the first two meets of the season. Marissa Silba has led the way for the women’s team in the first two meets as well.

Leading the team to a 1st place finish and 6th place finish across their first two meets. This Friday, September 30th the Golden Griffins will have their hardest competitions yet. The Paul Short Run Invitational has over 3,500 runners spread across 286 teams.

The race will include teams from all across the east coast and the Midwest. Division 1, Division 2 and Division 3 will all be included in this meet, across three races for both the men’s and women’s teams. However, with the start that this team is off to, the Canisius Cross Country team is destined to succeed. With strong runners as Freshmen, Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors the team will use their skill and depth to their advantage.

The Golden Griffins will look to finish strong in this meet with their roster of talent this Friday.
