Celebrating their 25th anniversary, C-Block, the student section at Golden Griffin games, is looking to continue the legacy and tradition established over the last quarter-century of cheering and screaming.

President Kaitlin O’Meara explained the history of the club: “C-Block was founded in 2000 to bridge the gap between students and student-athletes to try and encourage attendance at games. We bring the energy and fun to the KAC and LECOM Harborcenter, at least one game for each team per season.”

O’Meara is no stranger to being on the club’s executive board, bringing two prior years of experience with her into her presidency. “This is my third term on the C-Block E-Board. I’ve been secretary, vice president and now president. It’s been one of my favorite parts of Canisius since I got here, and I’m really looking forward to a great year ahead.”

Her partner in crime is Vice President Hannah Wiley. “I’ve been on the C-Block E-Board for two years, as secretary and now vice president. I love getting to work with an E-Board that is as passionate about sports as I am!” said Wiley.

When the two aren’t watching musicals at home or causing chaos in The Griffin office, O’Meara and Wiley are planning the next big C-Block event. “This year C-Block has a lot of fun giveaways and activities to engage the general body. We’re doing our annual MAAC trip to Atlantic City for the MAAC basketball tournament and we’re also doing Dig Pink this year with Volleyball for breast cancer awareness,” explained Wiley.

With O’Meara and Wiley leading the way, and the club’s first all-female E-Board supporting their efforts, C-Block looks to make the next 25 years just as rowdy, just as loud and just as fun.
