On March 8, the undergraduate population elected Analee DeGlopper executive vice president of the Undergraduate Student Association (USA) for the 2024-25 school year.
Finishing out her sophomore year, DeGlopper has quite the academic and professional resume, including resident assistant for the Office of Student Life, vice president of the Canisius University Model United Nations Club, the treasurer of Canisius’s pre-law society, a member of Omicron Delta Kappa — and that’s just outside of USA. Within the organization, DeGlopper has served as a Freshman Senator and is currently serving as a sophomore senator on both the Sustainability and J.U.S.T.I.C.E. committees. DeGlopper is no stranger to student government, as she was the freshman class president as well as a member of her honors student government sophomore year of high school. Throughout her last two years of high school, she became more involved in other clubs, and rediscovered her love for student government coming into her freshman year at Canisius.
Many aspects of DeGlopper’s student experience aided her path towards EVP and beyond. Model UN will be attending a conference of other collegiate Model UNs in Chicago next month, and she will also be visiting Washington, DC to visit various monuments in the area. Triple majoring in Political Science, Criminal Justice, and Sociology not only grants her the ability to be fluid in how she operates USA as a Senator, and eventually EVP.
DeGlopper is incredibly excited for what’s in store for her as she begins stepping into her new role. She particularly wants to get USA more engaged with students and vice versa. In her role of EVP, she wants to make sure that people “know what they need to do, that they’re actually staying on top of their roles, and that we’re just going to have a great year because everyone’s going to know what they need to do and know where to go if they need help with certain thing[s].”
USA will soon be led by Tim Sanders as President, Analee DeGlopper as Executive Vice President, Gabby Kaderli as Vice President of Business and Finance, and Aaron Hall as Vice President of Marketing and Public Relations. This e-board is sure to be a force to behold and a team to lead USA into a prosperous school year.
