The Canisius University acrobatics & tumbling team lost their final meet of the season on April 9, 2026 against No. 7 Gannon University 261.565–225.650.

The team celebrated senior night, honoring their two seniors, Julie Baker and Emma Levey. Baker had been a member of the Canisius cheer team before joining the acrobatics and tumbling team, and Levey was a transfer from Texas Lutheran, bringing established skills and knowledge to the program in its first season.

Despite the loss, the team saw many improvements in the execution of their skills – though this was not always reflected in the overall scores of the events. Compared to the tri meet against Buffalo State and Mary Hardin-Baylor, the Griffs improved their scores in the acro and tumbling events, with tumbling seeing a seven-point-five point increase.

Though the Griffs wrapped up their inaugural season with this meet, sights are set high on their second season, as starting in spring 2027, there will be a national collegiate championship for acrobatics and tumbling as the National Collegiate Athletic Association approved legislation to establish it, according to the National Collegiate Acrobatics & Tumbling Association.
