A Place to Rest Teary Eyes
By: Kira Rodriguez, Creative Corner Editor
A guy was sitting with his hands over his face when the bus was at a stoplight. His elbows rested on his thighs, proving a stable place to rest his teary eyes. He shook his head back and forth as it rested in the palms of his hands.
A cat walked away from him. The cat was small and fuzzy, but large enough to let people know it was not to be messed with. The cat walked with purpose up the driveway, never looking back at the man sitting in the lawn chair with his head in his hands.
Perhaps he cried over the cat who never looked back. Perhaps his eyes were teary from the morning sun. Maybe it was something different entirely. Maybe he wasn’t teary–eyed at all.
The light turned green, and the bus continued its route.
