Notes from the Underground 2/18/22

The history portion of Canisius’s website lists the history of 2010-Present as “Coming Soon.” The Underground isn’t sure if this is a comment on the quality of that history, the existence of an implied threat by President Hurley or the lack of historians caused by 2020’s faculty cuts. The site was last updated on August 19, 2019 at 12:03 P.M, so it’s not as if they lacked material. The intervening two years have been a whirlwind, to be sure, but we’re not sure why they could cobble together 140 years of past history but not the most recent 10 years, which would presumably be the easiest.

The marketing/communication folks are currently filming a tribute video for President Hurley. The Underground is simply flabbergasted that it has not been asked to contribute. It, and the campus as a whole, has a fabulous relationship with the president.

The end of a two-year era: this may be the last week with masks.
